Richard is heading one of the key digital transformations in ABB Group, called Collaborative Operations. His work includes building a dozen digital service delivery centres, staffing them IT and OT experts for serving customers worldwide, and for supporting ABB’s own organization. Further, his team is making digital partnerships with ABB’s customers on plant and enterprise level, which include the deployment of new software, IT integration, data collection, cloud, analytics, and change management – in order to make industrial operations more profitable and productive.
Prior to this role, Richard lead the digital transformation of ABB Marine and its operating model, which is now one of the digital leaders in its field. He has 15 year experience from Digitalization, business and change management, restructuring and post-merger integration. He is based in Helsinki with his wife and three children. In his free time he operates with some business partners a start-up for organic apple cider out of Finland.
Digitalization and the (very near) the future of work
Richard is going to describe ABB’s view of the key success criteria for implementing digitalization projects in the process, utilities, and transport industries. His presentation will cover the IoT stack and use cases for how to work with data, and how to use it for improving the operations of industrial operations on single plants and on enterprise level.
